Only So Fast, the latest CD from Steve Smith and Hard Road on the Desert Night label is a collection of ten originals and contributions from Kim McKee and Leadbelly. The CD features nine vocals and three instrumentals ranging from hard driving Bluegrass and Old-time to modern acoustic music and features the vocal compositions of the award winning songwriting team of Chris Sanders and Steve Smith. Only So Fast, the second CD from this New Mexico group represents their combination of Smith’s Appalachian and Sanders Mid-western roots, delivering a fresh sound with trio, duo and solo voices. Stellar fiddle, mandolin, banjo, guitar and bass work are highlights throughout.
